Fly into Innsbruck and have a break in St Anton or the more laid back Lech - you'd love that.
Or what about my old favourite haunt of Mayrhofen?
Schladming in a target for me for next season.
If its a short trip, maybe you ought to seriously look at Andermatt, Switzerland. Might just be perfect. Fly into Zurich, take the train and arrive relaxed.....
Just a few ideas.

We looked into Lech a couple of years ago but found hotels really expensive, but Lech does look good.

Of course, if you can't be bothered to do the research yourself I'd say go to St Anton!

Actually i think snowb4ndit has hit on a winner with St.Anton.....
If its a romantic ski trip away from the kids you are after....you could ski up the Gampen side and on the way back down on the red it joins a blue track which goes under the lift into the trees and heads towards Nasserain, along this track in the woods you arrive at one of the Austrian alps hidden gems of a restaurant.....the old rustic Rodulhutte with it's large open fire. :D Unless you know its there you would miss it.
Can't think of a better place on a snowy day to stop for lunch, a bottle of good wine and the local speciality Tirolergrostl served in the pan it has been cooked in.....bliss :D after that the worlds you're lobster.
Also Lech & Zurs are close by and only a short bus ride away
