Sure ... would love it. Still haven't had time to fit them but will have to wait for warmer weather anyway.
I really don't understand when people take luggage without checking the name on the label ... must have been awful to realise your gear's gone.

Well my skis arrived back today!!!

someone has had them for two weeks and skied on them ...I take more care of hire skis! there are gouges on the sole and the edges are notched ..so full service and obviously they took a liking to my carbon poles and the slip that went in between,,,There are some real ba****ds about ...I hope they broke a leg.

I reckon the whole incident has cost me £200 It shows that not everyone who skis are the good guys!!

Similar thing happened to me coming back to Gatwick on Sunday. Saw my ski box on the conveyor belt. By the time the belt had come round to me the ski box was gone. Even though it was personalised, someone else had picked it up and walked off with it. Found the bloke, who had made an honest mistake. If you're going to personalise, make it extreme.

Hi Daved

sorry to hear about your problems! I had my brand new skis lost/lifted after I returned from Italy 07, put me off having my own skis last season! I have now bought some more for this years pilgrimage. Hope I can hang on to them this time!

My experience really ticked me off, took months for service agent to declare them unlocatable, then had to wait for airline to evetually issue luggage unrecoverable declaration before the insurance would cough up lost a lot against repurchase value!Took nearly six months in all to get money back!

My advice to you/anyone, keep all purchase receipts, skis/poles/bag or case (for potential claims) & watch the carousel like a hawk as it would appear that there are some skiers that don't play the game like the rest of us!

As far as claims are concerned you'll find trying to claim from an Airline a waste of time so make sure your well insured & perservere.

It's a worry but there's nothing like skiing on your own skis, I guess it's a lottery whether they go down the shute & come out the other end, let alone trying to get to them before anyone else does at the carousel!

I thought skiers were a different sort of bunch, but now I'm not so sure!

Fancy having the gaul to ski on them and then take them back to the airport after their holidays. I too hope they broke a leg.

I hope they getput in jail and bummed roughly! That would be karma.

To avoid the luggage/ski bag conundrum I pack all my gear into my ski bag (well it is a snowboard bag but you can fit in more that way)

Last trip a woman came up to me and said I had her bag. Event though I put black and yellow tape along it as an identifier. She insisted that I open it. Usually I'd tell her to get to fork but instead I pulled out a pair of my well worn jocks to show her. She didn't see the funny side and gave me a dirty look and tutted.
