But some day,,you will be skiing and something will tell you to look at that skier that looks as good as DaveMac,,,,,maybe just maybe!

Dave Mac,
Seriously.
Over time you start to develope an "picture" of the person behind the words, the messages, the thoughts.
Over time you reveal your being and I see a handsome man who perhaps looks in the sixties, "stout" yet always smiling because in his heart he is re-living all those "adventures" in a certain small village where there is a plaque in his honor!

I see you skiing,,yet there is always an "eye" for some skier who needs help!

There is a French term for you ( as I am sure there is in every language) it is, "bon vivant"!

I could pick you out in a second in a ski slope! There is no doubt in my mind!

It would be very dangerous for us to ski together!

Caron,

Better book Sean Connery for the part ....

Pavel, Any secrets or other stories you have shared with me are safe ... what goes on in ,,,, stays in ,,,,,

I think before I knew of Pavel I visited the cathedral he mentioned (all the crutches, braces of the miraculously healed are at the front as he mentioned. And therefore I may have skied at the resort in his story. Does it have a golf course to the left side of the "main" lift looking up the hill? If this is so, the story means even more to me.

Mike,
That is not fair. You are giving away some valuable clues!

You are right about the golf course!

I though you Protestants were not allowed to go into a Catholic Church?

Do your remember all the hotels along the road to this institution?

Did you visit the lower sections,, with all the sacred graves and "special" artifacts!

I have another story about this cathederal which I am sure no one will believe. In short I was locked IN the place for one night! Really!

Mike I promise to make that my next Pavel skiing story!

Pavel,

I do recall the many hotels along the road to this place; and the several "condos" on stilts along the winding road up to the parking lot. I thought the horse drawn wagon was a nice touch. I say wagon as we were there in the summer of 1999 to check out the place before our first skiing visit there in 2000. We took the main lift to the top for the great view of the lower lands. Here the wagon provided transportation to one of the hill top lodges for lunch time. During the winter the wagons became sleighs. Not quite the sleigh ride suggested for Ian, but easy transport back to the main lift. We will have to get back there and have a look for that picture :!:

The Catholic Churches welcome all who may like to visit (or stay) - but I'm a duly baptised member from way back. This is a truly great cathedral. It was when visiting in Northern Ireland while the unrest was still ongoing that I kept looking over my shoulder while in church on a Sunday. Everything was OK but the media hype was in the back of my mind

Didn't visit the lower sections (but did visit the gift shop)... maybe on the next visit.

Did Mama have an affection for St Bernard dogs ?? Is there a story here??

Mike

Cannot yet qualify as "stout", Pav, still only 10 pounds heavier than when I ran my final sub 3 hour marathon

I could pick you out in a second in a ski slope! There is no doubt in my mind!

Yes you probably could, that's one of the problems with wearing the same ski jacket for so many years!
