Hope it works out and don't pay any attention to any m-in-l jokes that may follow [Tony - behave ]

Cheers that's all very helpful, especially the bit about the massage. I can remember now how sore I felt after the first 2 days. Aching. She's actaully living in Ireland so I might suggest getting onto the dry slope in Wicklow.

Also ringing Chamonix tourist office to see what have they on offer when they open back up this afternoon.

Greatly appreciate the tips and the amusing "M.-'N-L." jokes.

Here's a link to the dry slope in Kilternan:

I see they now do a one-day beginner clinic that could be good (skis and boots are provided). Mind you - be sure to remind your m-i-l that its much more fun on snow

No you're right. I would hazard a guess at there being approximately 18 people who would take the greatest pleasure in leading the old goat up to the top of that cable car.....

No I could not do that to my Mother In Law, but then again I would never, ever go on holiday with her. Thats one of the reasons I go on holiday

We went on ski holiday last year with the in laws and had a great time. Both of them are in their 60's & took beginners group lessons. MiL hated the instructor and gave up on day one. FiL continued and was shuffling his way down the blues by the end of the week. To be able to do that he also conquered his major fear of heights!
We're all going back again this year with all of us having private lessons.

No actually she could be quite useful, no one would dare tangle with her in a lift queue  Funny enough my MIL is only five years older than me but acts 20 years older.
