Saalbach is our favorite place so far. The runs down to Leogang are really nice too.
The PanaramaAlm above Saalbach does an especially nice Beef with gravy, dumplings and sauerkraut!
We've never propperly managed to get to the Hinterglem end so we need to get back there and sort that one out.

Do I get the drift from you that you won't be joining ellistine and myself when we go to Austria :?: :!:
Can I come with you ellistine ?? We can have a Corona for Pavel :D
Mike
Lets hope so. I was just going by what my mate told me. They have been going there for a number of years for the RAF champs, but he said last year it was awful, with literally rivers of mud at the bottom, and no skiing past early afternoon most days. He actually didnt ski at all for 3 days out of a fortnight there. I am sure it will be fantastic this year.
I know nothing about your trip to Austria, unless of course you are turning up in St Anton early Jan? If not, then I guess you must be going to Obergurgl later in the month for someone elses 40th birthday.
You will like Austria. Trust me.
Book a flight then!
 , no,, really

Geoff,
Along with a number of very good skiers, I've been to Hinterglemm the last 6 or 7 years in January, and can thoroughly recommend the place. The ski-ing is excellent for all standards and the apres is as good as you will get!!!
Its almost impossible to get back to the village on the Reiterkogelbahn side without dropping into the party every night at the Goatstall!! Dont miss it.
Tony - I think you are being a little harsh! Most places in early january last year were suffering extremes of temperature. Fingers crossed, it looks a little colder already this year.
