if you go to the snowdome you'll have to book in for a lesson/s. they've got a nursery section that only lessons are allowed onto and then they progress you on to the main slope when you're ready. I'd personally say it's worth it.

I may be wrong but I thought lessons in austria were generally two hours in the morning, an hour for lunch and then another two hours in the afternoon?

if you live in london you also go to the o2 snow slope with a nursery slope and two proper slopes, they also do lessons.

Hi
Lessons are usualy a couple of hours in the morning for 4 or 5 days, if you haven't booked anything check snowguru.com, they list english speaking instructors, if there isn't one listed then they will find you one. You can't have too many lessons when you start out.

Fantastic!! i'll have a look at the O2 slope to! what are the prices roughly for going there???? I was wondering about the lessons to! as there are a few of us going id rather the lessons be morning only as us 3 beginners are quite desperate to do as much skiing as possible with our friends! I'd rather not spend all the day in a ski school! 2-3 hours in the morning would be ideal though! Plus is there any way to purchase a lift pass before we get there? we're trying to pay for as much as possible prior to our arrival.

as for lift pass I think you can buy them on ifyouski, but i'd wait for Tony to tell you, he's a saving machine alltogether.

just out of interest, what's the dry slope where you are learning?

We're learning at Alpine ski, its in Aldershot, there was one closer to where we live in Guildford in Surrey, but this was recommended by some work colleagues so we decided to learn there! A this is the only ski slope ive ever tried my knowledge is limited, but it is really good!

Chris. Interesting to hear you will be out there same week as us! Theres 8 of us taking a chalet in St Anton, and I imagine with my 18 yr old son and 21 yr old daughter that we might just manage a short visit to the Mooserwirt or the Karzy Kangharu.

Let me know if you want to meet up for a beer when you arw out there. Drop me a PM. Always good to meet people. And have a beer.

As for beginners, I dont know how St Anton compares, but I do know it has a lot of very exciting and interesting terrain for good intermediate and more advanced skiers, and is somewhere every skier says they have to go at least once in their life. You are spoiling yourself with this first trip alright!

As for lift passes, the Euro HAS to weaken against the pound, so I'd wait and get it in resort to be honest. Thats what I normally do. Having said that, we have pre paid for ours as they were 2 for the price of 1 if bought as part of the package. Thats what they call a no brainer, I think.
