Tip : ride on the inside of the cable car. Saves the gloves, but does mean you might have to wait for the next one.

Hestra Leather. Will cost plenty, but expect them to last for years. some versions have removable and washable fleece inners.

In saying that my Hestra Leathers lived out their life this year after 12 weeks of skiing.

As has already been said - how can you trash a pair of gloves in a matter of days...

I have a pair of Salamon and Scott gloves - they are still in top condition after 12 weeks use - but I do change every day.
You'll never know, unless you try...

Faaantastic!!

But then, on reflection, using your method Trencher, you might not need a lift pass!

I believe the practice is pretty common at Indian ski resorts

consider ski mitts instead. Tried and tested by my weak circulatory cousin in very cold and windy Chamonix over New Year.

8)Thanks so much everyone for your great advice! I will try to remember to ride inside the cable car this year - wondered why I was getting weird looks!!! :D
Sounds like a shopping trip is imminent (damn shame!!) - will try to find a Hestra pair - need to try them on obviously, and I'll have a bimble around a TK Maxx.
So excited! I will be skiing in 3 weeks time and the snow is awesome already - thanks again one and all!
