David. If my memory serves me correctly, I think you have booked somewhere already for a ski holiday. If so, stop panicking about the snow, and start looking forward to the trip, and pray like we all do for some cold and snowy weather starting round about now.

For what its worth, I flew over the Alps on Wednesday afternoon and there seems to be quite a lot of snow already. Fingers crossed.

Ok i'll stop panicking...but.... :D

Yeah that's why I was asking...i got the snow reports and there's snow already in the alps. Sweet!!

So already there is snow in the Alps but I have been looking avidly on the webcams for Ruka, absolutely no snow and they reckon to open on 15th October. It better get a move on.

Looked at the webcams from Engelberg today - and was delighted to see people with skis going up the Rotair cable car.

This must mean winter is almost here.....!

Oooh good news! I shall have a look tomorrow :D

I went there early Dec 06, and the snow on the glacier slopes was superb. Also managed to ski to the village, but it was a bit thin in places.
