Dont forget to get your wrist guards, impact shorts! and wear a helmet. May seem over the top but...... you wont regret!. Your first day or so will be frustrating, but keep with it, its worth it.

Yellow and Orange??? i've seen worse!

I would think most people in the early days totally dispair. I remember my first day of boarding lessons I could have cried, I was bruised,[so was my ego}, I ached, my boots hurt my feet, I had blisters. and I was miles behind the rest of the group. But it did,nt take long to forget all that. Its well worth it in the end.

Be careful where you carry your screwdriver, an aquaintence of mine carried his in a pocket of his jacket, had a huge crash and ended up with it stuck under his ribcage, most uncomfortable! I use a small snowboard tool, compact, strong and easily carried in a pocket on your sleeve, and a lot less likely to make you look like a kebab!!

I also used a pair of impact shorts when I first started, they DO make your bum look big, but at least you can still sit down at the end of the day. The first day or two are spent getting up off the floor (alot!) but stick with it, it's well worth it.

Good luck and enjoy. 8)

Friend of mine, skiing with a camera tucked into a front anorak pocket, suffered a fall, broke ribs, punctured a lung.

Nobody got a photo.

Re getting the board out to resort, my son has got one of those snowboard bags on wheels which is also a suitcase. Seems to work well and gets checked in the oversize luggage section along with skis, etc. So far he has never had the weight of it queried on TO charter flights.
Re looking like Ronald MacDonald, try selling burgers as you go down the mountain and it may pay for holiday.......
