Tempting as exploring new areas sounds, I think from what you’ve said I may be pushing things a bit far with VT, for this year at least. Saying that, if the conditions on the Milky Way aren’t great (which seems to be the case a lot of the time) I may just give it a go!
However, I’ve also got my OH to consider (as I’m not wandering off on my own, well, not yet at least!) I see something that little bit steeper as a challenge and a chance to improve, however he surprisingly seems happier cruising down runs with a slightly more gentle gradient (even though IMO he is the better skier of the two of us, technique wise at least – not that I’d ever tell him that of course!)
I just hope finding a happy medium is not going to be too tricky as I want to make sure we both enjoy it… :D

Can anyone give me an indication as to how expensive it is when you are in Sauze. A group of us are going for the new year and none of us have ever been before and I have heard all sorts of stories ranging from drinks at £4 a pint to £7 a pint. I really don't mind I just need to have an idea of how much things will cost whilst there. We are going half board so all we need to look at is the cost of lift passes, snowboard/ski hire and nights out etc!!
I look forward to any comments you have.
Thank you

Lift pass prices will be available on the vialattea website, but last season they were 172 euros for the whole area.
Ski hire cost me £50 for my son to have intermediate skis, boots and poles, from Lo Sportivo which is available by prebooking via Skiset. Their gear isnt great, so I would recommend getting the VIP package, or alternatively hiring in resort from the shop next to Scotch Bar at the bottom of the piste in the village.
If your hotel food is bad and you need to eat out, there are some nice places in the old village, not expensive at all, on a par or slightly less than UK prices.
Unfortunately, the Euro is strong so you wont get a good rate. A pint of lager ranges from 4 to 5 euros in most bars, so that means paying London prices for your beer.
It was slightly cheaper in Ghost, which is just down the hill from the bottom of the piste in town, and a good atmosphere in there too.
Enjoy.
