Good call bandit.
I was able to walk out of skis in andorra last month only to find that after a bus transfer i had picked up somebody eleses hired atomic sx8's size 168cm. They were marked by a ski shop as A1 where as mine were A2. This caused some great confusion upon return of the skis.
As for the jumping, not that i'm anywhere near to a pro at jumping, (See Ski Injuries thread) (my old school buddy andy bennett may be better suited to advise here), but
a) it's gonna be nigh on impossible to land on a ski you can "walk out" of.
b) Should you even be trying 3 feet jumps with a torn achiles? I'm told if it snaps it's very painful and at least 6months of immobility.
As for technique i'm with trencher, be ready to take the impact in your knees before landing.

well you all have good points
but here some more tidbits of the situation:
1.) if you go to elan's website (www.elanskis.com)you will be able to see what im about to explain, the way my bindings are placed on the ski is from a system called the "fusion" rail system, it allows me with basically a quarter to adjust my binding length to accommodate any size boot on the trail, they have a locking mechanism that you must open with something to pry , like a coin per example, the DIN setting on the binding are also easily adjustable on course with a coin as well, so i am sure that the bindings are set properly, and spaced perfectly to my boot, as none of my friends have felt the need to pop into my skis,
2.) and the whole reason i walked out of my binding was because i was taking a turn with an angle that i was positioned at that my knuckles were on the ground and i was nearly lateral on the slope, fun times until you get screwed ahah.
so im not to worried about the bindings ohh and thank you trencher for the advice
you guys have any tips on what kind of boot i would want to explore, im using technica entry x2, good boot for me, but i want something that is a little bit more performance, as well as a good canting system 8)

ohh as well, i did check the bindings with my dad as he used to race GS
he stepped on the back of each ski and had me lift my heel up and foward as much as possible, and he also made me shift my weight side to side to make sure it was ok for me to use
