It was $200 without binding. I bought marker M900 bindings for an additional $60. I tried them out on Sunday, and love them, but my only point of reference is rental skis. I think I would probably love any pair of skis compared with rentals, though.

I bought my Mrs some C220i Head skis this season, her first pair, she is a fully competent intermediate, and in fact she is a very god skier, but wouldnt admit it.
They came highly recommended for her usage, build, etc, and she has had 1 week on them last month, although she had a couple of falls!!! They do seem to be a decent ski, especially at £150 inc bindings.

My mate, Skidaddle, a very knowledgable chap in all things skiing, informed me that I would benefit from more advanced skis. My Blizzard V Matic Firebirds were great for a first ski, and have helped me develop quite some way, but I need something quicker and more advanced. Having had Blizzards, I kind of got quite attached to them, and looked into getting some more, but they dont seem to be easy to get hold of in the UK. I wasnt in a position financially to buy when I was in Mayrhofen last month, but stumbled across a shop in the north east who seems to stock a hell of a lot of Blizzard from the previous season and sell them off at bargain prices. I took some advice, and ended up with a shiny pair of Sigma X Cross 10's......and having sold my Firebirds to a mate, and collected a small debt, I have ended up paying £29 for them all said and done, inc bindings.

It just proves that shopping around, and taking advice from people in the know, is well worth it, rather than going on a whim or picking something you think you might like or that looks nice.

18 days til I can try them. Not that I am counting, of course.....
