A client of mine who is leturing in sports science recommended to me, infact the vitamin C element was more important than the glucose but for sports that gave a good combination.

So probably comes back to the fruit bars with Vit C in!

there's two different things though, hydration and nutrition, in fact really re-hydration when sweating and for that you really need electrolytes in addition to Vit C etc.

I go with the muesli bars too. I normally find two will keep me going all day and avoids that after lunch bloat. The exeption to that would be skiing at Deer Valley, where the lunch menu is exeptional.

Dear All

Wow I must say many thanks to all contributors with your incredible assortment of various recommendations.

All of which has made me very thirsty.

Now just to mix things up a bit. What if I leave the apartment in the morning already having taken a dissolved multi vit tab in water. Is it still advisable to have more glucose ?

And the next big question is what is the ideal lunch which will allow you still to be fit for skiing ?

Kind regards

Silver

Absolutely, the glucose is for energy :D

I find I can't eat much when I'm skiing. I usually have porridge & fruit for breakfast & carry a tub full of mixed nuts, dried fruit & chocolate buttons to snack on. If we stop for lunch, finances dictate that we usually go for a plate of chips to share, or soup & bread & that's plenty for me. Sometimes a crepe from a little mountain hut is a welcome afternoon treat.

P.s. - I don't normally live on a daily diet of chocolate buttons, chips & crepes - honest! :?
The plan is.... there's no plan!

Marko,

Yes no doubt that a great pint AFTER skiing is a must. Research often supports the practice to take beer after skiing ( if you do not drive home),,,,,however never never while skiing please!
