Thank you Jan for Plastic Bertran and Oasis
Thank you ISE for Audioslave and Massive Attack. What great choice you have.
Rossfra8 great choices and I am sure we could exchange Ipods and love our runs! Kasabian??? I am now really discovering "new" music. Thank you.
Gavin and Trencher both of you amaze me at your eclectic selection of music! Now this Toad choice I will have to follow up on!
Here is an excellent example how the net has become a powerful medium for "sharing information" More powerful than canned marketing campaigns. I am now a fan of Massive Attack,Appollo440,Mogwai and Martha and the Muffins!
Keep on rocking on the hills!

As Pavel knows, Judy (da wife), and I play music for some ballroom dances. When the dance hits a lull or seems to be dying, one of the best to "wake" up the crowd is Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop". If this works for skiing then ABBA's "Waterloo" will too - this works just as well on the crowd as does "Don't Stop"
So if the skiing is slow and appreciating the freshly fallen snow or freshly groomed trail I prefer melodic tunes like those found on ENYA's CD; "A Day Without Rain". Some of the tunes suit a smooth flow down the hill or a drive though the winding country side on the way to the hill.
When I first began skiing a friend suggested keeping "Tea for Two" going through my mind as a guide to rhythm. Now we Cha Cha to it !!
Another tune that would suit a defenite but graceful flow might be Boyzone's "No Matter What"
It all depends on the mood! Even Lou Bega's "Beauty on the TV Screen" should work!!
So in list form:
Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop"
ABBA's "Waterloo"
ENYA's CD; "A Day Without Rain".
- "Wild Child"
- "Only Time"
- "Flora's Secret"
- "One BY One"
Boyzone's "No Matter What"
Lou Bega's "Beauty on the TV Screen"
Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Angle of Music"
For getting down as fast as possible and with determination these tunes may not suit very well.
Happy dancing down the hills !!
Mike

My favorite tune..
Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder
Many tunes would put me off of my rhythm but this one seemed to do ok in the bumps of the era.
Another tune was a tune by the late Frank Zappa…Can’t afford no shoes
Good luck finding that cut on the web.
Today I ski to no tunes except when driving to and from the hills. The sounds always distract me from the skiing sensations. I’m dumb that way can’t walk and chew gum at the same time.
PS I too am appreciative of the tunes of others and am down loading many as we speak.....

I don't ski with "sound." But, if I did I would have to throw a few good "classical" selections on.
A great one for treacherous terrain would be Rachmaninov's Prelude in C#-minor. There are ton that would be great for just relaxing and cruising alone. . . :)
