Well,i've been in La Thuile last year,by the way in Jan What about snow,i don't think there will be any problems with it...it promised be snow winter this year )
If u are intermediate skier it will interesting for u.There are a lot of different slopes..from easiest one to really hard..a wide range of choice.
La Thuile its quiet resort...and i didn't find any clud there unfortunately...but there are some good pubs.Mainly near Hotel Planibel...the main place in in town,i think.
