Sitting is wasting time Iceman, just point the board down the hill / off the cliff and vvvrrrrroooommmm lol

Joking aside...

We like the app as it does give a record of where you've been, runs done etc and the odd loss of GPS is a small matter. Most importantly of course it clearly shows I can boogie down the mountains
Not ALL boarders sit in the middle of pistes.....

Yes, I've got it. I use it to measure my running routes here at home as well.

Do you need to have your data roaming enabled for this app to work?.....I always switch mine off when abroad to avoid the charge to receive a load of emails I dont need

From the website FAQs:

No – Ski Tracks does not require any data to work.

WARNING
If you use your phone abroad and turn data roaming on – using any GPS application may download small amounts of data when retrieving locations and for this reason we always suggest the Data Roaming is set to OFF.
The settings we suggest are as follows:

iPhone Settings -> General -> Network -> Data Roaming (OFF)

If you are on a fixed data plan or want to be extra careful about your data usage we also suggest turning OFF Cellular Data as well.

iPhone Settings -> General -> Network -> Cellular Data (OFF)

Wifi should be left on for use where a wifi connection is available.

Note: Ski Tracks will not work in Airplane Mode.

Beats my puny 102kph. And swallows my friend's 240 kph, (then a British record!)

Thanks Dave

How do you get that speed on a board when you are sitting down most of the time? ;)

Everyone: The point he was making about the 278.1mph was referring to the fact that the GPS lost its signal so it reported a super fast time from point A to B when the signal was lost. You all were joking werent you? ;)

Oh...I didn't realise, maybe it lost the GPS signal because he was going so fast?
I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

Used the app every day on two holidays last season. It only lost gps once during 14 days skiing. Really impressed by the data collected, maps, graphs etc.

I will leave it on in the plane and possibly get 550 mph.....
