If you treat your leather gloves with bees wax they should be very water proof and last quite a few years!

The only thing waterproof is plastic bags but then your hands get wet from sweat.
Basically you need something to breathe in the conditions. My present gloves are mostly leather which also makes them hard wearing. For maintenance try Nikwax leather proofer.
The gloves you have spec'ed look good for the alps but if you are skiing in Scotland carry an extra pair.
Hope this helps.

Hey TC - yeah very true but when was the last time you could up-zip a pair of Hestra and release your hand without taking your glove off?

Had a look at those 10 peaks gloves.
That unzipping idea seems really quite innovative but I would want to try them out first.
I have Hestra with the wrist cuff so I don't lose them and i like the gloves.

OldAndy - I know exactly what you mean and indeed I used to have a pair of Hestra and I haven't yet tried these on the hill but I can't feel or see any difference in the quality between these and the Hestra but the practicality of them is much much better in my humble opinion
