Amazing value prices!
I'm also afraid that your last couple of lines confirm my belief that altitude IS all important. Glad you had a good time though. Innsbruck Airport is one of my favourites in the world!

I have to disagree, altitude is not everything, I was there in 2012 and the snow conditions were superb the first week of March, good pistes and powder most days. It is nature, you can't force it. A very lovely area and I for one would be happy to go back!
Rather a bad day on the slopes than a good day in the office!

But the thing is Dgou, if you went higher altitude you wouldn't need to run the risk and experience conditions like LOTA had.
You're right though, you can't do anything about it, but you can reduce the risk of no snow or not being able to ski as much as you would like,

OK you are obviously entitled to your opinions just as much as the rest of us are. There is always more to a ski resort than just skiing - this is a lovely area, plenty to do off the slopes, or if you had a bad day, nice places to eat, easy access to other transport, and more of a holiday than just skiing, if that is what people want. Quite often there is someone in a group who does not ski, so this area ticks a lot of boxes for many reasons - AND - when the conditions are good - which we found - it is lovely. A friend is currently in a high altitude resort in France and has had to miss a day's skiing because of the bad weather,so altitude does have disadvantages too.

I think you may be over reacting a tad, it is posible a very nice place to go
but for the best snow I feel you need to go higher at certain times of the year
