Agreed, and it is frustrating. But in Tignes it was unreal just how many snowboarders did it....a far higher proportion, including 1 sleeping just over the dip on a red, right in the middle!!!!

Don't get many skiers sitting on the lee side of a lip, but boarders seem to do that a lot!

That said, few skiers or boarders seem to know the 'skiers' code, and have any idea as to where they should stop safely.

It may reflect the resorts we choose to go to, but I think the standard of boarding is really good generally - however, I still don't get on a chairlift with a boarder unless it is my son!!

Perhaps the reasons you see less goats on the piste is that they tend to congregate in the snow park? I say lets build one hugh 'stash' in the pyrenees and see them gone for good.
Thats sick.

I always thought it was a matter of age, the younger crowd opting for boards while the older crowd going for skis. Snowboarding seemed to be the winter equivalent to Surfing and skateboarding which attracted a younger portion of the population. But then I am totally new to snow sports so it's pretty much an outsiders view.

Very few of them seem to actually know what they are doing. The good ones are great, and of course we all need to learn....but why rest in dangerous places? Anyway, rant over.......

But their are an awful lot of skiers who do the same 8)

I agree plenty of skiers stop in silly place a d worse still they then set off without even looking but I've never seen skiers sitting in the middle of a slope
