i see.so good news and bad news.i have to double check this.i dont know how but i have to.thanks for the info.

Half term in Germany is the week of 9Feb. Driving from Munich down the A8 to Austria during that weekend is always pretty slow.
Good luck.

Agree with Mayrhofen and Soll. Trying Saalbach in a couple of weeks and our research suggests the place is normally rocking!!

Ischgl rocks and no contest ! Look here http://www.ischgl.com/en/party-nightlife-tyrol-austria
Favoured: Trofana Tenne for après and Schloss Lounge at night, ( saucy Coyote anyone ? )

General consensus seems to be St. Anton or Ischgl. Never been to Ischgl but St. Anton is 'Party Central'. Don't think you'd go wrong with Solden, Saalbach, Soll, Kitzbuhel or Mayrhofen. If you leave it late you'll almost certainly bag a deal for Soll or Mayrhofen. Bargains are thin on the ground for the rest though. Snow unlikely to be a problem in St. Anton, Ischgl or Solden.

If you do a search for cheap late deals, you'll always find soll, niederau or mayrhofen come uk.
Soll I don't know a lot about, but mayrhofen is a great ski area and has some really lively places without being in your face.

You'll grab a bargain if you're prepare to wait until late, provided you check the conditions before you go.

I do find Austria has a real authentic feel in general compared to other countries, especially France. It depends what you want from your trip.

We did Söll for this New Year and it was amazing!
Weather fab, blue skies, snow and après ski......thankfully just the 4 nights or our livers would have objected!

The apres in St Anton is very good, but by far and away the best is Solden. It starts early at the top of the Giggioch and carries on in the village until the early hours of the morning if you can take the pace. The only caveat is that in some establishments it can get a bit raucous - it's not the Brits though, it's the Dutch and Germans
