OK last one: Is is ever sunny there?

Been 5 times in january and on the whole we were blessed with good weather and good visability. Not maybe Blue sky skiing, because it can be very cold. So IMO goggles are a must over sunglasses even when it is sunny. Only ever lost half a day due to bad weather and was some freak winds.

2011 was a bad year for snow there, but it was sunny for weeks! You can easily ski from Haus across all 4 mountains to Reiteraml in a couple of hours. It would be a long ski, but I am sure you could head one way from where you will be and ski all the way around in both directions in a day. Alternatively there's a ski bus which runs in both directions. You could take the bus to Reiteralm and ski all the way to Haus and back, or take the bus back. The bus is included in your pass.

Any advice on how good the snowfall is like beginning of March,

Even if it doesn't snow again, there should still be plenty left by beginning of March. Dont worry, I'm sure you'll love Schaldming and the skiing to Reiteralm, Hochwurzen and Hauser Kaibling. The list system is as good as you'll find anywhere and the mountain restaurants are really good. We like the Jagastubl on Hochwurzen, the Holzhackerstubl on Planai, the Krumhozhuette on Hauser Kaibling and the Preunegg Stubl on Reiteralm.

Thank you for that,sounds good,first time in schladming,usually ski Canada and like the deep powder and glade skiing, having a change this year .not sure if any glades in schladming ,do you know of any? will try the recommended restaurants thank you. enjoy the race .
