I really wouldn't pack my helmet in a soft ski case. Have you seen how they get thrown around?
If your helmet takes a signifigant bang it will need replacing.

Get yourself ski bags online, I got a double bag which is triple padded for £40 at skiwear4less. Wheels are easier but I put mine on my shoulder and wheel the case, not a big deal. Its all about how much stuff you can get in the ski bag ;-) I put all my outdoor clothes in the ski bag packed around the skis (use bubble wrap as well and cover edges, tips, tails and bindings properly.
Boots - pack them in your suitcase.

Check this to be sure, but I think BA allow you one case plus one ski bag FREE on transatlantic flights.eohare wrote:Hi,
I am new to the forum but hoping someone has some advice for me, booked flights to Colorado hoping for lots of Spring powder. When I asked BA about ski carriage they've said book it on as an extra bag or pack them in with your clothes, obviously packing my clothes seems great.
So:
1. Double ski bag going to fit in my skis, boots and enough clothes for 12days?
2.Wheels or no wheels?
3. Why the f*&k are they so expensive - £100ish?
