*if* this post is help you decide what "key words" to choose for your website's marketing (i.e. for google search (adwords)) then why not use google's FREE analytics tool, that will tell you the rankings for all searched words and how much you'll need to bid to get 1st page rankings.

Smartski...you are absolutely on the nail! That is the exact reason for posting the question. I have spent a lot of time using the Google Keywords. However, I thought asking the question here would be an interesting 'real' way of finding out how skiers arrive at their conclusions!

I don't think it's advertising, just a marketing research:) Like when you want to advertise online you want to ensure that the words used are those that are commonly used in searches.

OK, OK! My error, I am genuinely trying to discover how to, where to, who to sell my new ski product too and test our theories against reality and my request had this sole objective.
