You may get more ideas if you offer a list of suitable ski countries, and a budget ceiling.

La Thuile is one to consider, thanks.

Suitable ski countries, Bandit? By only ruling out France, I thought I'd left plenty of other options!!!!!

The desire for a British run ski school is harder to source outside of France, Switzerland, or Andorra.

Edit: I've found these folks on the web, don't know them personally, but it might help with resort choices.

Thank you for the edit. They look very interesting - particularly as Hinterglemm is on my possibles list.

I was disappointed today to discover that Austria SuperSki don't seem to be operating any more; I always fancied their one and two-day trips to Maria Alm.

Singlesport.com have a trip to Courchevel on 9 March which includes free lessons perfect for your friends confidence. Large group so ski buddies for both of you

Thanks, but really not that keen on France, so will give Courchevel a miss, thanks.

What about the likes of Khutai or the Montafon Valley. Their reasonably high for late season and most of the Austrian ski school's have English speaking instructors if not English run. Although not massive in piste miles they should keep you occupied for a few days. -)
I just love the gravitational pull
