Thanks for the costings Bedrock Barney :D
The overall price looks very similar to what we paid for self-catering in Meribel over New Year, although on breakdown you paid more for flights and transfers than we did for the Eurostar and bus, but less on ski hire and lift passes.
And, you definitely made it from landing to front door much quicker than me! I usually have a 5 hour train journey to London, both ways.
I would say what you paid was okay for an Easter ski holiday. They always cost a lot more during school holidays

Just for you .... I hope it helps
The term alpine refers to the Alps, a European mountain range.
I guess my point is it looks a lot more like Scotland than the Alps 8)
It did look good, Ian, but I cannot agree with your view.

It is not a Negative Dave, it is just different from the "Alpine Range"

Term "alpine" commonly used to mean high-altitude, above tree line

It's got snow, mountains & trees although the price of booze is grim & the natives more polite.

They do say that Hemsedal is the "Scandinavian Alps"

I think Hemsedal is pretty spectacular if you go off piste:
Even some ice climbing if you are bored in the evening!
