Mainly because the type when u am walking is kind if thermos type. A hip flask is convenient as it slips in my pocket. When I am walking not a problem to put in my rucksack. It is 2 different flasks for diff purposes. I can complete again based on hip flask if you like?
Great survey

I will certainly be keeping you all in the loop as this develops. I'd imagine over the forthcoming weeks to have a few design proposals.
Iceman - I hadn't been specifying any type of flask yet as i feel its important to get a good overview of what people use and when.
Its interesting to see youd still carry your hip flask when skiing, is that because a normal flask is too big? or just prefer a bit of dutch cur-rage before going down slopes? :P

Seems to be a lot of "students" doing "research in the design field in England !
I remembered reading an article about "what is good design" ! Hope it helps some students before they consider their "research" ! Hope some design lecturers read this also!
Good Design;[i]
is innovative
makes a product useful
is aesthetic,,,ie beautiful
makes the product understandable. It short it makes the product talk!
is unobtrusive ( neutral and restrained)
is honest ( does what it is supposed to do )
is long lasting
is thorough down to last detail
is environmental friendly
Note last one,,,,,
Good design is as little design as possible !
Know these and you have passed any course in design in any country !
With great respect to design students,
Pavel
