Now why would you go attempting to slag off someones skis like that?

By inferring that it's a ski for women, you think the Neo is being slagged off. So, IIUC you think women's ski's are somehow inferior?
No. But I think you were inferring it was a womans ski in attempt to belittle them. And FYI they are not a womans ski.
And no, womens skis are not inferior, they are different, as well you know
Nothing to say a man shouldn't ski on womens skis, like Ally's instructor seemingly did. But she makes a valid point that its important to find a ski that YOU get on with.

My daughter and I tried out the Scott Maya and Rosa skis in Tignes for 3 days after a heavy snowfall. She got on OK with the Mayas but I really disliked the Rosas because they felt too soft and flexible and they were unstable when I was travelling at high speed. I much preferred the skis I hired this year - which were men's Dynastar Contact 4 X 4's which have been adapted from GS racing skis but are OK in the powder as well (not great but OK).
And I noticed this year that my male ski instructor put on Scott Maya's after we had tonnes of powder and he said they're pretty good skis for the powder (although I never did find out why he was on women's skis - I did wonder if he'd pinched his wife's skis!).
So I don't really see why it matters whether you pick male or female skis - what matters is finding a pair of skis that suit you.

Iceman, you can't tell whether skis are ladies or men's just by looking at them. The only reason I knew my male instructor was on ladies' skis was because we'd had those exact skis the year before and I recognized them.
I do remember Bandit saying something about the bindings being in a slightly different position on ladies' skis because their centre of gravity is meant to be in a different position on the ski. And, also, ladies' skis are generally more flexible and lighter etc. since women are supposed to be lighter and weaker than men.
