Italy in first week of march

First week in March 2007.
We had a great weeks skiing as it happened, despite it looking terrible. The pistes were literally strips of white through brown fields and trees. But it was cold and so the pistes held up ok.
The really bad piste is the Clotes piste back into town. Its not uncommon for that to be shut anyway, but we never attempted to ski it like that loony in the photo did.....we took the chair down end of the day. Up top it was fine though, and better still over at Sestriere and even better at Montgenevre.
This season is looking fantastic, so even it theres little more snow, theres plenty to see the season through.
I have to admit, I did panic when we arrived in resort and were sitting in the square having a beer in shorts and t shirts as it was 22c.
Seriously, dont panic. It was like that last year in France in January in some places!
Sunday flights into Turin can get you to other resorts like Cervinia and Courmayeur, as well as Serre Chevalier just over the border, so be careful where you choose, but one of those 3 will be fine.

The 2 man has just been replaced with a 4 man and that 1 man has not been running for some years, thankfully!
