Lota you are an experienced skier the weather is the weather, forecasts are seldom accurate be patient it will come, January last year I had a week of crap snow my brother in law went a couple of weeks later and he skied powder, :wink:
I would not be worried if I was going next week, if your skiing pasture e.g. the low lying Austrian/French Swiss resorts then 20 cm of snow opens the resorts the only issue is with higher resorts which need snow to cover rocks. It will come.

Bit early to write it off Tony! One good dump and it's all back on.....bet there's a lot of fingers crossed out there though....and a lot of people looking across the pond for damage limitation...I'm watching the last minute deals drop in price...like a hungry shark...

All this panic is quite frustrating, Let me tell you a story 2007 turned up at LGb and it was totally green, Monday it dumped 50 cm and the whole resort opened. To Quote a song " What a difference a day makes " ........ Guys keep positive "It will come". :thumbup:

I'll tell you what's frustrating...watching the weather forecasts for Solden and Obergurgl.
It was going to snow on Thursday, then Friday, then Saturday, now Sunday (perhaps!) Next week, there may be 'precipitation'!
It is getting a little colder, though, and five more lifts are opening at Solden on Friday for some man-made action!

I know all that, the variables, etc etc etc...and I'm not worried about my first trip just yet. But I would be worried if I were going in the next week or so - it's going to take some serious snowfall to get this season going! Sooner, rather than later, I hope....
