I and five friends went from les Menuires to Courchevel an back between 9.00am and about 12.30pm and we went beyond Courchevel itself.
So, it is not quite true to say it is difficult to do in a day - but we didn't hang about.
I,ll study my piste map and come back to you
Don't forget that some runs are classified red or even black when only a very short section is really in that class which a confident blue, run skier can do it

They're asking for a route on easy blues so I'm assuming the pace will be fairly gentle.
Using reds Val Thorens to Courchevel can be skied in just under an hour, the route back a similar sort of time depending on queues for the La Plattieres lift. I reckon once the lift is upgraded next year Courchevel to Val Thorens will be under an hour.

The replacement sounds great:
Construction begins this summer on phase 1 of a new Plattières gondola, the main lift from Mottaret's towards Les Menuires and Val Thorens. This single lift will replace the existing Plattières I and II lifts for the start of the 2012/13 season. (For the 2011/12 season the existing lift will continue to run). The future gondola will have a capacity of 2700 passengers per hour, giving access to the top of Plattières II in just 9 minutes compared with the current 25 minutes. Comfort will increase as well as speed: comfortable 8-seat cabins will replace the small, back-to-back, 6-seat cabins.

Ive done this very think using only blues / greens and been in Courchevel 1850 for lunch (what a mistake that was)!
Coming back is slower due to lifts in Meribel and then there's the whole issue of do you come back via Les Menuires or straight for Val (problem with that is the Plein Sud run isnt ideal for beginners at the ned of the day as it can be carnage by the Folie Douce as it empties out)
How confident / competent are your group?
