I'm looking in the wrong skips and in the less lucrative areas. :(

OK, Alistair, so we have now established the following:
1) You admit to spending your free time looking in skips, for whatever reason, maybe beyond the ken for most J2skiers....
2) In carrying out this subversive activity, you also admit to frequenting areas of toxic waste......

At least I frequent standard grade ski resorts, while Trencher obviously targets upmarket, affluent areas, probably A grade film stars.

 Dave, I hold you personally responsible for leading me astray. I was almost content until you offered wonderous stories of finding not only skis but bindings at the end of the rainbow. Life will simply not be the same from this day forward. Now, you've got my order, I think you should target the better skips around the Arlberg. There will be a drink in it for you

When I got married (nearly 27 years ago) we were totally broke and we pretty much renovated our house with material out of skips. It's amazing what you can find in them (although I have to admit I've never found any skis or bindings).

And when my sister was at Uni she got her fruit and veg for free by taking it from the waste pile outside the back of KwikSave

I have seen whole kitchens in skips in London, thrown out by very rich people with more money than sense who just want a new designer kitchen when there was nothing wrong with the old one.

I take our good, unwanted, old stuff to charity shops. Have you had a look in them for those bindings?
