My Wife has the thermic boot heaters. I put them in my boots for some very cold days last season. They work. On the medium setting I was getting about four hours of good heat out of them. It's very important to follow the charging instructions with both makes of boot heaters.

You may need to do a little work on the foot beds to fit the heater pad underneath with out being able to feel it. Stanley knife, and some course sand paper (dremmel tool if you have one). Also to create a channel for the cable to the cuff of the boot. The cable needs to come out of the liner at the bottom, and run up between the liner and the boot cuff, so you need to cut a slot in the liner for the connector to pass through. Take care in the routing of the cable inside the cuff. It may be thin, but in the wrong place, it is uncomfortable. Make sure you end up with the battery packs on the outsides (not between) the boots.

Boot heaters have made a big difference for my wife. She is certainly happier to come out and play these days.

My wife has these:

Anything Technical do the Thermic Supermax for a really good price at £80. You will also need the electric insoles further down the page at £30.

We also have the boot warmers at £26 further down the page to dry the boots overnight.

I can vouch for the suppliers, they are a reputable shop in Kendal and are also good at fitting boots. We have a bought a few things of them and had boots fitted there.

Some people have medical issues which makes them prone to cold extremities. Even the best socks won't keep their feet warm.

I've got the thermic boot heaters and they're great, having said that I've only used them the once as we've always had the luxury of boot warmers at the hotels we've stayed at 8)
I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!
