Is 65 too old to try skiing?

Interestingly, we walked about ten miles yesterday - not as ski training (that is separate)- and we were wondering how that length of walk (2½ hours)compared to say, a 30 min jog at 6 mph. Does anyone know of a formula whereby you can correlate the benefit from walking as compared to jogging?

Icemen,
Hope you are back from your walk!
A physiologist did a PHd thesis on the comparison between quick walking and running! Final conclusion walking overall is much better on knees, heart, mind !
No other comments needed !
Have a great skiing year Iceman,,as well as all others !

I will try to locate the study I read about this issue!
It was a physiological study on 20 runners and 20 "walkers" done in 2001 at a USA university !
I remember that the cardio resultants were as good ( for an active walk ) and the knees trauma was very very positive for the walkers !
