I am still debating on whether I want a helmet or not.
Cant decide.
I am considering hiring one in resort in ADH to if it is worth investing in one for the future.
I agree with the need to have one, just not to sure about the comfort of one though.

Stewart if you agree with the need to have one, don't worry about the comfort side of things hire or buy one
Stewart, rental ones are eurgh  though. Who knows what the last wearer did with it. I expect the rental ones will be a cheap and nasty model, which will fit no-one in particular.
You don't need to be spending money to decide not to wear a helmet, just don't wear one )
In my humble opinion I would buy, the main reason if a helmet has taken a bit of a bash much like a motor cycle helmet I would think that you should replace it, if you don't buy ensure
you inspect the helmet very carefully.
Ally, The actual volume of a helmet is not that great, and they are generally light weight. You can pack stuff inside it, so it doesn't add much to the volume of your baggage.

If it's cold and snowy, you'll be glad that you are wearing one. Nothing better in bad weather.

Bandit, that is one of my concerns.
Who was wearing it last?
Who was wearing it last?

I am going to hire one, because I can't be bothered with carrying one with me - I've got enough luggage as it is - see the packing list thread!
I am just not going to think about who was wearing it last, and whether they've got dandruff or nits or how often they wash their hair
I am hoping I will be able to see where I'm going when I'm wearing it.
