Thanks Verbier_ski_bum :D

I think there may well be a trip video, if Brooksy has his way

He's already planning which way he's going to catch my most spectacular fall on film, and he's seriously worried that it might happen on the first Sunday before he's there to film it for posterity/J2Ski

I am really hoping at least one person will have a go pro so we can get videos from the trip, along with a serious hatful of photos as well.

In fact, how about this for an idea:

J2ski Trip Webcam - a constant feed from the house, a bit like Big Brother.

One person only needs to set up a camera on the internet and stream using the hosts free wifi.......

I can't wait to see Ally G necking Jaegerbombs

Well, isn't it a good thing you decided to come with us Andy

But remember the first Sunday is the pub/restaurant crawl around Tignes and Val d'Isere via the ski slopes

Ermmmmmmmm........
Could be a slight tactical error here Ally as, if my memory serves me right both you and I are T total.

A list of the best places for a decent cuppa and the best Espresso may not quite fit the requirements or expectations of the other?
Your thoughts????

Andy,
It's quite simple - we do the pub/restaurant crawl, but we don't actually drink any alcohol ourselves

Perhaps it would have been clearer if I'd expressed it like this:

The first Sunday there will be a reconaissance expedition on skis to gather information concerning the quality and price of food and beverages offered by the various mountain restaurants of Tignes and Val d'Isere. There will also be an attempt to gauge the 'ambience' of said restaurants and ascertain the magnificance, or otherwise, of their mountain views. This information will be required by the main body of the troops when they reach the ski slopes on Monday

OK - sounds good.
:D
If CatP is able to join us she can do the sampling - should be able to carry her home between us if necessary.

The thing then is what is the sampling schedule?

IMHO - Vin Chaude, glass house red and white and draught beer in each restaurant?
Does that cover it Ally?

Andy,
We will have to make enquiries with the others in the group as to which particular beverages etc. they are interested in.
And then we will make notes.

I shall be purchasing and issuing these special bendy pencils to ensure we don't injure ourselves whilst carrying sharp items around on the ski slopes :D

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Flexible-Bendy-Rubber-Colorful-Pencils/dp/B0080DRA5C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1349983978&sr=8-2

And we will have to plan our route around the restaurants very carefully so that we don't end up paying for a very expensive taxi from Val to Tignes (as you pointed out yourself several pages back).

Here is the list of the 9 mountain restaurants that I reckon warrant further 'investigation'.

1. Le Palet - top of the Tichot chair above Val Claret.

2. Le Panoramic - top of the funicular from Val Claret to the Grande Motte glacier.

3. Le Bar de L'Ouillette - at the bottom of the Madeleine piste, on the Solaise above Val d'Isere.

4. The Alpage/Soli - at the top of the Chaudannes lift above Le Lac, and the closest mountain restaurant to les Brevieres.

5. Les Clochetons - at the bottom of the Santons piste, just before you get into the Val d'Isere village.

6. Le Signal - at the top of the Fornet cable car in Val d'Isere.

7. Le Triffolet - above La Daille, by the OK and Criterium pistes etc.

8. The Edelweiss - on the blue Manguard piste above Le Fornet.

9. La Folie Douce/La Fruitiere - at the top of the cable car up from La Daille.
