Hi Guys

Off to Niderau on Sat for 1st ever skiing trip, just though of a few more questions..

1) How widely is English spoken in resort - bars,restaurants etc?

2) What is custom and practice re tipping in bars and restaurants?

"Niederaud" is widely spoken in bars and restaurants mainly during the ski season, it is also a local custom to tip
in logs, the down side of this is that you will need to hire a wheelbarrow.

Will a snow-chain be required for the wheelbarrow? Where can I buy a single snow-chain?

Not to mention the need for ones own chainsaw. I believe only axes are available in resort!! :D

Re snow chain - does the wheelbarrow have steel or alloy wheel?

thats hilarious brucie! dont start another debate about snow chains..............which by the way I ended up going for cheap ones off ebay. Hubby is going to fathom them out this week! so fingers crossed lol.

2 weeks and counting!! will let you know how I get on.

Oh and while we are talking about Niderau, just exactly how do you say it! Folk keep asking me where abouts in Austria I am going and everytime I say it, it comes out different lol!

I must be one of the few who havn't been but I believe the pronunciation is NEE DER OW!!!!
