J2Ski group holiday to Tignes January 13th 2013

Thanks Andy - I am very glad to know that they have now moved the dynamite from under the restaurant :lol:

Here is another of my daughter's photos of the cafe by the Grande Motte glacier in Tignes. I was rather reluctant to post it up because I am in it and it's not a very flattering photo of me - squinting into the sun with my hair all on end. We were sitting there having elevenses, and it is again taken in October 2009 (I have a few more grey hairs now!).

We were very lucky with the weather - it was really hot and sunny, which did however make the snow pretty icy.

You can see that you walk straight out of the funicular and onto the restaurant terrace. You have to walk along here to get to the next set of lifts.



And if anyone else wants to come with us and check out exactly how grey my hair has become now, they are very welcome to join us. There are still a few rooms left in the chalet. Please post up on here or send me a pm.

Prediction ......
Totally grey by end of January 2013.

We ate here in Tignes but not sure where it's located.....will head back here for lunch at New Year




This is our regular stop in Val d'Isere as mentioned earlier in the thread. Great salads and quiche. Loads of people were also tucking into the barbeque food. Got very busy though so we tried to be in the queue by noon to avoid the crowds.



I'll do more reconnaissance when we are in Espace Killy 10 days before you lot. No charge!

Do you think your first one could be this one, which is the Alpage/Soli at the top of the Chaudannes - the one I said was closest to Les Brevieres?

I'm just going by the colour of the stonework. I skied past it several times but I am hopeless at knowing where I am when I'm in the mountains :oops:
