Cold night temperatures = recrystallization of the existing snow + new artificial snow + enhanced compaction from good piste management.
Get out on the first gondola for the best conditions.

What about night skiing .... great fun :D

Hinterglemm has several long runs that are floodlit, with few people using them. In the interests of the longevity of my marriage, I constrained to a normal days ski.
I did manage to get our group out on the first gondola of the day, last week.....a little white lie about the start time of the Gondel meant that we were first in the queue on the first morning. They loved that first run down on freshies, there were no issues for the rest of the week!

Wickers, I've been to 3 resorts that offered night skiing, and to be honest, we were so bushed from a full on days skiing that having got back to the chalet/hotel and had a couple of drinks and relaxed, we really couldnt be bothered.
We were going to do it when we arrived but things change, especially when you ski as hard as we tend to during a day.
Ellistine said he felt we skied a lot more than he normally would.
