I'm wondering how clear the insurance company will make it that they demand a helmet is worn.
If it's not very clear and the person covered isn't looking for it they won't have to insure them if they do injure their head.
I wonder what percentage of skiers read the small print. This forum has definitely made me more aware of the need to read it.
The same question could be raised for the alcohol question. Insurers don't seem to advertise these clauses very much.

Wish they would have the same clause for motorcyclist in the US. It annoys the heck out me that they don't have to pay an extra premium to ride without a helmet.
Or join the power rangers.

Before people start going over the top on this one, I should point out that the insurance company (which by the way is hopefully going to include the Thomas Cook group) is not insisting that clients wear helmets. It is stating that it will only cover head injuries if a helmet is worn.
As most non helmet wearing skiers seem to think that they are never going to sustain a head injury, then surely this clause is not going to effect them anyway.
Simples :)

Poor Trencher ) I got caught up by the Helmet Law in the UK, can't recall which year now, but I went on the protest rallies sans lid. The protests were about the compulsion aspect. I have also been lucky enough to ride on a bike at 95 mph* sans lid, and can report that it's not good to open your mouth at that sort of speed ) * For anyone half interested it was a Thruxtonised Velocette Venom. I was 14 and the passenger!

Helmet report from mayrhofen. It is proud to be one of the bobble capitols of the world. I'm guessing 35% are wearing lids here. Some amazing bobbles on show too.
