Usually when it's near the time I watch a few ski / snowboard vids on youtube and download the good songs that they use.

My O/H thinks it's rude to ski with an i-pod :( so when I am on my own I like to listen to the Beach Boys, beacause the music is associated with a completely different pastime/weather. Get of the chair lift at the top of the mountian, put on "God only Knows" :)

I would never listen to music while skiing, off the slopes however a massive range, U2, Pink Floyd, Green Day, The Prodigy, Kasabian, Florence and the Machine, etc etc etc
As for listening to music while skiing, I think it's idiotic and I'd be amazed if it wouldn't invalidate your insurance.
