Ski-ing here at Tignes

I would love to do the camp next October, however my job, once again, gets in the way with restricted holiday.
Note to self: find a job with lots of holiday or win the lottery so I can ski forever.

Hi Tony,
That's very sweet of you, and I don't mind at all. What in particular do you think makes me huggable?

I haven't even started thinking about it yet.
Glad to hear you're another train fan, Nelly. We'd have gone by train this time, but the trains to Bourg St Maurice aren't running yet. I've got someone coming on Monday to install more roof insulation to 'pay' for our flights.
We are thinking about doing this 'camp' again next October half-term, because we enjoyed it so much and it's so cheap, and then maybe having another full holiday in the Tignes/Val D'Isere area one Feb half-term holiday, if we can find anywhere cheap enough.

Nelly,
I know what you mean, about trying to spare the time. Although it was only 3 days actual ski-ing, it took up 6 of my working days.
We left here about 11 a.m Sunday to drive to Bristol airport from here (with a stop in IKEA in Cardiff on the way to do some essential shopping), Sunday night in a Bristol airport hotel, check in at 7 a.m. (only one flight per day to Geneva from Bristol), arrived Geneva 1 p.m. (Easy jet flight was delayed an hour and a half), afternoon to look around Geneva, chalet mini-bus pick up at 7-30 p.m. in Geneva airport, 2 3/4 hour drive to Tignes, ski-ing at Tignes on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, back to Geneva airport Thursday evening, Geneva airport hotel Thursday night, fly back to Bristol Friday morning, drive back here Friday with a stop in Swansea to visit one of the family in hospital there. Finally arrived home about 7 p.m.
Total 6 days.
But if I'd lived near a London airport I suppose I could have done it in 3 1/2 days since they have more flights and I wouldn't have had to take so long getting to the airport.
How much holiday do most people get? I have no idea (being self-employed).

Thanks Eljay,
But I'm not sure I'm a 'star' on Youtube. I'm just lucky I have a daughter with a camera that has a video function on it, and she didn't mind videoing her old mother. It is funny to see the difference between how you feel when you're ski-ing and what you actually look like
I can see I need to improve a lot more.
I am trying to tot up the total cost of our 3 day ski-ing trip to Tignes, plus half a day going around Geneva.
£222 for the chalet etc. with Mountainsun Ltd
£160 return flights for 2 people Bristol to Geneva
£30 240 miles of petrol to and from Bristol airport
£90 for a room in the Holiday Inn Bristol airport
£40 parking for 5 days at the above hotel
£70 for a room in the Ibis hotel Geneva airport
£240 for food (approx) in airport cafes and mountain restaurant for 2 of us over 6 days
£85 for private lesson
£35 for extra for currency surcharge in chalet, and extra ski insurance
10 swiss francs each for left luggage at Geneva aiport train station
7 Swiss francs each for a day travel pass around Geneva
Grand total around £994 for both of us.
The most annoying item is how much we spent on food in cafes etc. Food at Geneva airport was incredibly expensive, like 4.8 Swiss francs for a bottle of water. And we spent 30 euros on lunch one day at the mountain restaurant at Tignes.
But I suppose if we'd been at home I'd have spent a fair bit on food and doing something to amuse my daughter during half-term.
Tony - that's very kind of you to ignore my worst faults and think I'm 'sweet'.
