If that's the case I'd question going to the Sella Ronda - Selva, Arraba etc. because they aren't very Italian. Up until the end of the First World War they were Austrian and still have more of an Austrian feel than Italian. Same goes for the local food.
Fascinating place nevertheless and an amazing ski area. Spectacular scenery.
This is only partly true. One thing I found absolutely fascinating on the Sella Ronda was the difference in feel from the Southern end to the Northern end. The Northern end definitely does feel quite like Austria though I would still think it is sufficiently Italian to feel different. The Southern end is very definitely Italy . If you are based on the South side, you will know you are in Italy which is reflected in the food, drink, style, attitudes, etc 8). The downside is this extends to après-ski, i.e. virtually none

Overall, I found the Sella Ronda to be a fabulous place to ski

Hi everyone, need help for my first snowboard in Italy (beginner). I'm arriving in this amazing country at the beginning of March, in Venice. Then I'm going to rent a car and drive towards Rome. Some Italian friends (not skiers) suggested me to drive to Padova and Verona. Then I thought: why not going north and snowboard for 2/3 days?

Need your help to check if near Trento has good places to go (Andalo?), if it's easy to get there, or if there's another place to go nearby, or on my route to Rome.

thanks in advance.
