I'm guessing that you didn't manage to get another flight then? Sorry to hear you've been having so many problems with this trip.

This weather is a pain in the a*$e and should relocate to where it's wanted - the Alps for instance!

I'm booked on a flight in the morning...Keeping fingers crossed, but Easy Jet don't seem to know their heads from their a*$es at the moment!

Good news.
I understand that Easyjet are hoping that most people who have lost flights will just give up and ask for a refund. Thats a lot easier than trying to get people on to subsequent flights. By being as unhelpful as they seemingly have been according to reports, they probably scare a lot of people off making less of a problem for themselves in the long run. I may be wrong but thats how it seems to be.
Not sure about what the charters are going to do this weekend, we will have to see.

So they just think people will say 'oh well, our flights been cancelled we'll go home and miss our holiday' - were they born yesterday? People save all year to go on holiday, why are they being so unhelpful?

Bandit - hope you get there.

As for exercise, I'm finding walking through a foot of snow, particularly up hill is working my legs pretty well, I've also been doing a variety of other exercises that are wokring a number of muscles at the moment. 2 weeks to go, hoping to be match fit.

As for all this snow, I'm terrified of going AoverT and hurting myself before hols. Deep snow is better than compact snow and ice for walking on.

Nelly,
I am walking very carefully as well, in case I fall over and hurt myself. I fell once today, but I'm okay, and my daughter fell heavily on her hand but luckily she seems to be okay as well. I would imagine the casualty department in our local hospital is full of people with minor injuries and breaks.

Snowbandit,
I hope you do get away okay (and stop sulking!). I rather think sulking is bad for your health

I am worried myself now, because my daughter has AS exams next week starting on Monday, and we're snowed in at the moment and they are predicting heavy snow for Sunday. My contingency plan is for her to walk to town (5 miles if she doesn't get a lift for part of the way) and then stay overnight with friends, assuming the school manages to re-open in time to do the invigilating and that they get the exam papers in the post.

Its different for tour op flights which are chartered, but Easyjet have hundreds of flights each day and they will never be able to allocate the passengers from the 600 or so cancelled flights on to other flights with the best will in the world. Therefore, those people can get their money back or find alternative flights with another carrier. I dont actually see why it should be Easyjet's issue to get people from A to B because of the weather, it is not actually their fault at the end of the day. It is however a ball ache for those people who are trying and I massively sympathise with everyone.
Bottom line is if they cancel the flight, you are entitled to a full refund, and your insurance should kick in for the ongoing links and accommodation. Assuming you took insurance, of course.

I would have thought you were used to doing that in the snow

I've left it a bit late to get started, but better late than never. My poor thighs have been aching all week with the lunges!! Gritting my teeth and keeping at it. I do walk several miles a day with the dogs, but that's only keeping things ticking over. Going skiing with a 26 year old, it's going to be hard going...............best go do another circuit!!!
