How about this for all-singing-all-dancing!

Animal do a great ski/snowboard backpack with built-in hydration system (cammelbak copy). I have one and I love it. You can even strap your skis or snowboard to it if you find yourself having to hike your way up a piste - as I found out in Tignes this November when all the lift were shut.

all the top brands are pretty good.try a few on with some weight in to see which fits you best and is most comfortable. i have had a few but also prefer da kine, i have the small and large version of the heli pro which i love. both have camel back inserts and other useful features. in the large the camel back tube comes through the shoulder strap and the end is concealled in a pocket until neeeded to prevent freezing. im not on a commision from da kine honestly...

I'm not sure about that, many of the top, or popular, brands are ridiculously heavy. The heli pro mentioned above for example is 1.5kg which is not as bad as some but it's probably at least .5kg heavier than it needs to be for a 20L sack. As a comparison my daysack is a Salewa Extreme Inversion 32L which (stripped) weighs under 1kg, stripped means all those extra features removed. My Black Diamond Revelation 42L is around 1.5kg (not stripped) and that's a full alpine climbing/touring sack.

Those heavy skis, boots and sacks really add up :D

I don't know if you are still looking for a rucksack, but I have supprisingly bought one from Tesco for cycling and this years ski trip. Its a 6L hydration rucksack and only £9.99.

That's a good price! The trouble I find with cycling with a camelbak etc is being able to grab a breath and suck fluid down a tube at the same time. Makes me feel light headed just thinking about it

yeh, know what you mean.
This rucksack is small and light. Just enough room for goggles, spare hat, chocolate as Spud asked. It does have 2 front buckles and therefore may be able to adjust to allow breathing. I do find breathing often is useful.
