Wow. What fun we had this morning. We were a little later than we planned but we were up at the glacier by 8.30am. Skiing was really good up until 10am with softish snow and hardly any icy patches. We stopped at 11.30 am only because our youngest daughter's boots were too tight. By then, the pistes were getting 'slushier' in places but still pretty good. In summary, the conditions were very similar to those found at Easter. We skied all of the pistes other than the black which runs off to the right as you descend.

We've bought a 6 day pass and intend to get up to the glacier at 7.30 each morning and ski until 11.30.

Probably around 2 or 3 degrees at the top at the start of the day rising to 5 or 6 degrees by noon.

Very strange coming out of the funicular to around 18 degrees! We have used a skiset outfit very near the funicular for our kit. We can park outside in the main car park, walk across and pick up our skis/boots from the shop each morning.

I wouldn't necessarily travel here just for a sking holiday in the summer but there is so much to do that it seems like a win win to us.

Blob jumping and hot jumping into the lake tomorrow afternoon after skiing!!

Enjoyed the BBR's by the way. Will have better feel after tomorrow's skiing.

Colder start today after rain overnight. very cloudy at the top and only 2 degrees with some wind. My shell jacket and t shirt not quite warm enough! sun came out though by 10am and coffee and pastries soon warmed up my old bones. Everyone else ok as they are skiing in insulated jackets. My youngest had a go at snow boarding and I think we will soon be a 50:50 family in terms of skiing versus boarding!

We cut things short today as my youngest also suffering a bit with tiredness and numb hands/face. I 'm faily sure she has mild altitude sickness? We've all been more fatigued than normal whilst skiing and I suppose the majority of the time we are between 3,050 and 3,450m. Any thoughts?

Thanks. She's probably dehydrated and probably not eating enough as well. 13 year olds know everything of course!

shorter ski today as we left our youngest in the apartment for a rest. Snow very slushy by 10.30 in warm temperatures. Crack of dawn start planned for tomorrow.

Swapped my BBR's for some Rossignol Pursuit 18's which I much preferred. Far easier to turn than the BBR's.
