I guess its like anything in life, you never fully appreciate the consequences of your actions until after the event.........

I do belive that skiing is harder to pick up than snowboarding but at the much later stage. Getting down a hill on ski's dosnt seem much of a problem to 80% of the skiing world. I belive its called shussing and its almost idendical to the beginner snowboarder style also in my eyes called shussing.
Both of these creatures have the same effect on the snow pushing it off lift exits and generaly being very hard to predict which way they are going to turn next.
I hate buisy slopes, dont we all? I also hate to state the obvious but we were all there once. We cant spoil the fun for these people, moaning about them even banning them from slopes they do have to learn. The excitment for many people is pushing yourself to do harder runs and epesially skiing if anything the so called self aclaimed experienced Skiers and boarders are the worst. I cant beleve that everyone at some point hasnt pushed temselves to far and regreted it. I know I have, whats the fun in not pushing it!!?? Ive sat behind people watching their motion waiting for my chance to pass, I know their rythem im in tune with them..Time to pass and bang crash weve hit and its my falt...Anyhow I think the best place for us off piste mush quieter! could go on but have a life to lead, thanks and may bump into you soon...

OH FOR CHRIST SAKE. Right firstly Skiers are as bad as snowboarders! So manytimes I have been cut up by a skier on the pure basis that I am a snowboarder!

Skiers also need to learn that snowboards are not Ski's they move in a completely different way.

I have also had a skier crash into me... But I was the one on the snowboard, and I was the one in the right.

Yes people should move to the side when stopping on a ski slope but that goes for skiers aswell as snowboarders.

As a snowboarder I also can not stand out of control teenage boys on snowboads and it does strike fear into my heart!

People like this guy should possibly start to think about what he is saying about snowboarders. Just because there are a few idiots doesnt mean we all like that!

The fact is that the slopes are a dangerous place for everyone, be it if you are a first timer or an expert.
Nothing requires that you have a level of competance when you are on the slopes, you can just hop on a chair lift and go to the top...

I guess all we can do is look out for others and behave in a respectable manner.
I'm a snowboarder and I've been taken out by fellow boarders, snow-bladers and skiers, luckily nothing serious. I too myself have taken people out on the slopes.
At the end of the day the slopes is filled with all manne rof experts and idiots and somehow we all have to get along whether we like it or not.
Yes snowboarders do have a bad reputation for being a little 'wild' and undeniably the majority of them are. Snowboarding is also undoubtably much cooler than skiing (erects flame shield) so it's bound to attrack a greater number of juvenile delinquents.

I notice 'dgou' - the originator of this thoughtless thread hasn't come back to it yet....

It is great reading and clearly reflects the views of people who actually know the sport.
