Green - beginner runs, barely sloped, always groomed.
Blue - beginner to intermediate runs, always groomed a little steeper.
Blue-Black runs - much steeper than blues but almost always groomed (I see this primarily in Colorado)
Black - rarely if ever groomed, steep
Double Black Diamond - Expert very steep ungroomed runs
EX Double Black Diamond - ARGH!!!!!!!!
I don't understand the trail ratings for anywhere other than the US, so I can't compare them. But the US is consistant, with a few places, like here in Colorado, extra in-between categories are included.
