Open a Nationwide Flex account and use this to take out money at the resort. It's the only card i know of without extra charges. You will get the best rate this way, better than at the resort and better than getting Euros here in the UK. If you use Euros in BG the locals will 'round off' and you'll always be paying more. And, definately DONT change at Sofia airport! In the airport terminal you will find a cashpoint so take Levs out there when you arrive.. if you arrive at terminal 1, turn left into the 'cafe' as you come into arrivals and you'll find the cashpoint in there on the right. :D

Hello all,
Does anybody know what the conditions in Bansko are like at the moment ??
I fly out on Saturday and have just heard a rumour that there is no snow and they are busing people to other resorts ??
This doesnt seem to tie up with the data on the Bansko tourist site which shows all but one run is open ??
Cheers

Hi,
2 of the slopes are closed, the others 17 are open.
Good snow conditions.

Five of us have booked to go to Bansko in feb, would it be better to buy Levs to take out or take euros? Hope it is better than New Year.

Ok Bansko, great, lively and made very welcome the past 3 years. I am returning for a forth time Jan 2010, anyone says its cheap, yip correct, food and drink cheap, anyone who says its not lively, well they must have been in there bed early or couldn't be bother to venture out ( os so boring ). We eat out in different restuarants each nite and still havent found a bad one, you are made so welcome. Regarding the skiing, ok maybe limited, but conditions are great. Lets look at it this way, a holiday is what you make of it [removed]...
