Another "procedure" to practice without instructor !

Seems simple just putting on ski jacket,,but there are some important areas to consider!

One of these is the wrist area since the mating between gloves and ski jacket often is a problem!

Look at your gloves and jacket sleeve where gloves will meet! Which is wider ?
Do you place gloves OVER jacket sleeve or place jacket sleeve OVER gloves ?

Try it at home !

With some of my jackets,,I can insert glove INTO sleeve and then via velcro close sleeve over glove !

To me that is the best option since no snow or cold air can get in !

Are you actually advising people to practice putting their jacket on?!

I have tears in my eyes from laughing!

I go for the glove outside jacket style as naturally when you fall over (or if in some cases) you put your hands into the snow. That forces snow up your arm. That will put it up your sleeves in your case Pav

When do I practice putting my sallopettes on ;)

RossyHead,

Yes it seems so silly, so simple just putting on ski jacket, but then consider;
What ski jacket you wear on what conditions
What polar fleece vest goes better with what jacket
What jacket goes with what pants?

In powder you do not want to have a jacket that has too much insulation since you tend to "generate" a great deal of heat !

In cold windy days you want to choose a longer warmer ski jacket with high collar !

Simple,,,,until you have choices!!!!

Ross, you are young and do not have to take responsibility for family. When you want to go skiing and you have teenage kids and a spouse who are complaining that this ski boot doesn't feel right, and this clothing combination is uncomfortable, and I have a gap here, and I have a scratch in my goggles so I can't see, you will understand. When you have said year after year, "try it on before we go skiing, make sure it fits before we go skiing, know what you need before we go skiing. Then you will no longer think it amusing, just the reason you have grey hair.
because I'm so inclined .....

fair enough pav, i am not in the position of having so many choices!

One ski jacket if its cold, one softshell if its not but more often than not in Scotland its both because its very cold!

I agree with the happy wife=happy life which is why she has just got boots with heated elements inside!
