Ski Boot Heel lifters

Does anyone know where I might lay my hands on a couple of boot heel lifters? I was cleaning my boots a few weeks back and stripped them down and left the room to answer the door only to return and find that my charming dog had chewed through one and was happily embarking on the 2nd! At the time I dismissed it as I didn't think it would make any difference, however, I have since been skiing on the indoor slope and now find myself distinctly uncomfortable. I've tried the usual avenues and can't locate any, short of buying a new pair of boots which seems a tad extreme just for 2 small pieces of plastic.

If anyone could point me in the right direction?

I'm not entirely sure what you're describing as Heel Lifters? Are these part of the boot structure, or were they inserted by a boot fitter to balance your foot? If it's the latter then any ski shop should be able to help you to replace them. If it's the former, then a call to the supplier/mfr perhaps? I know my boots have a hard plastic "tray" under the liner. This sits loose in the bottom of the boot, is it this that you are describing?
Have a quiet word with the dog in the meantime :D

thanks, I knew it was a bit of a long shot but I do mean the plastic tray, although it was only the heel section that I had which comprised a plastic wedge that sits loosely in the boot under the liner, the effect being to raise the heel slightly ensuring that both the heel is secure in the boot and also had the effect of making you lean forward. I've tried my local ski shop, perhaps it's time to try a bit further afield / the supplier. The dog is fine thanks for asking :wink:

I see now, what boots are we talking about here? Don't they drop into pegs on most boots?

That's the ones, mine are Salomons - 29.5's, it took me ages to explain it to the chap in the ski shop, I think he probably thought I was mad whittling on about these 'bits of plastic' that are 'heel-shaped' :!:

I might have some of them. I just checked on old pair of boots and they're absent which means I took them for spares. In which case they're in a box at the other place. If you don't get sorted maybe we can sort something out.

Sounds like the ramp adjustment wedges. A lot of boots come with a choice of these wedges to adjust ramp angle (which changes the body's allignment over the skis ?). Boot fitters might have those spares left over.

If you liked you boots as they were, you may want to make sure you get replacements of the same height.
